The Farm

  As some of our customers might be aware we are currently unable to sell our organic raw milk.  The outlook is good however, and we are hopefully that we will be back to normal by mid-July.  All at Caerfai thank our customers for their support and custom, and look forward to continuing to supply raw milk in the near future.

Anyone who has been to St Davids knows there are some pretty good restaurants and cafés in the area and its nice to get some mentions in the national press.  Caerfai Farm also gets a couple of mentions (see The Sampler Tea room and The Bench). We have been using the Lely robotic milking machine for just over a year now.  Each cow wears a collar which identifies them – the robot detects whether they need milking or not.  It also holds their personal info (their weight, how old they are, their body stats!) The cows get a good feed whilst they are being milked. Graham (the herdsman) and Dad get a detailed account of how much milk each cow is producing. A time-lapse film of the cows in action…
