As some of our customers might be aware we are currently unable to sell our organic raw milk. The outlook is good however, and we are hopefully that we will be back to normal by mid-July. All at Caerfai thank our customers for their support and custom, and look forward to continuing to supply raw milk in the near future.

The Yurt’s are coming!

Our yurts are nearly ready to be assembled and all decked out for the 2013 season. This pic is of Nick’s (the clever chap who’s making them) own yurt – he came camping with us last summer!

The super pod!

The Pembrokeshire coastline is always impressive, but sometimes it’s amazing! A large ‘super pod’ of over 500 dolphins were spotted earlier this week just off the coast a few miles north of St Davids. Click on the link below to have a look.

Caerfai Farm gets a couple of mentions in The Guardian travel section

Anyone who has been to St Davids knows there are some pretty good restaurants and cafés in the area and its nice to get some mentions in the national press. Caerfai Farm also gets a couple of mentions (see The Sampler Tea room and The Bench).

In addition (but not mentioned) we also supply The Cwtch, The Sound and Food and Wine with our cheeses so all in all Caerfai doesn’t do too badly out of this article! Click on the link to take a look.

Lely robot at Caerfai.

We have been using the Lely robotic milking machine for just over a year now. Each cow wears a collar which identifies them – the robot detects whether they need milking or not. It also holds their personal info (their weight, how old they are, their body stats!) The cows get a good feed whilst they are being milked. Graham (the herdsman) and Dad get a detailed account of how much milk each cow is producing.
